Located across from the Visitor's Center in historic St. Charles MO, Main Street Books is a locally owned independent bookstore and is the perfect setting to find that special book for every occasion. We specialize in local history and guidebooks, Western history (including Civil War and Lewis and Clark) and children's books, but our inventory includes all categories. We also host three book clubs each month and frequent special events.

Main Street Books was formerly located in the historic Collier Cottage at 621 S Main, St Charles Missouri.

Main Street Books joins with St Charles City County Library District and the Friends of the Library to present a series of author events at library locations.

Teen authors Jody Feldman, author of THE GOLLYWHOPPER GAMES and Heather Brewer, author of THE CHRONICLES OF VLADIMIR TOD (EIGHTH GRADE BITES, NINTH GRADE SLAYS) will share their publishing stories and hints on writing for interested young and at heart writers and Marissa Doyle, author of BEWITCHING SEASON will share their publishing stories and hints on writing for interested young and young at heart writers. Books will be available from Main Street Books.
